This is Watercolor Month and to celebrate, I used some Watercoloring Techniques with Painted Poppies and the Silver & Gold Specialty paper from the Sale-a-bration Catalog.
I love how this turned out. I'm using Poppy Parade to watercolor the flowers and create the watercolor background. By using the Water Painters from Stampin' Up! I could easily turn a stamped image and a piece of lovely paper into a masterpiece.
I simply stamped the flower images on Shimmer White cardstock. Then I used the fine tipped Water Painter to spread the ink from the outline image into the center of the flower to color it.
For the background, I cut a strip of the Silver and Gold Specialty Paper that is 5 1/2" by 2". I used the Water Painter to pick up ink and swished it onto the paper to create the color "wash" across the strip. You can press the stamp pad onto a clear block to create a palate of ink to use or you can use the ink refill to drop a bit of ink into the lid of the stamp pad. Either method works great for picking up ink with your Water Painter.
I used the Poppy Moments Dies to add the bits of Olive Green leaves to my card. A bow of Baker's twine to add definition to the edge of the painted paper. A greeting from the delightful Limited Edition Stamp Set and....
The finishing touch is the darling Heart Pearls.
You will want to try Watercoloring - it is fun! And EASY!
