Beautiful Window Card using new Horizons Designer Series Paper

I learned how to make this lovely card from Ronda Wade. You can see her demonstration on YouTube.

The New Horizon Paper is so easy to work with and the designs just seem to bring out the creativity in me. I love working with this paper.

THIS PAPER WILL RETIRE AT THE END OF JUNE - GET YOURS TODAY!

The card base is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" of Evening Evergreen cardstock.
The Window is created with a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock that is 8 1/2" x 4 1/4". Score this piece at 1/2", 1", 1 1/2", 2" , 6 1/2", 7", 7 1/2", 8".
The patterned Paper for the card base is 5 1/4" x 5"
The patterned Paper for the Window is 4" x 4 1/4"
These are two separate patterns but they blend so beautifully.

Attach the patterned paper to the card base and stamp the flower from the Nature's Harvest Stamp set in Memento Black ink. Color the flower with Daffodil Delight - you can use a Blender Pen and pick up the ink from your stamp pad or you can use a Stampin' Write marker or a Stampin' Blends.

Attach the Patterned Paper for the window to the center of the card and cut out a frame. I used the Retired layering Squares dies to make my window. If you don't have a die that works, use your Stampin' Trimmer to trim out a window that is 3/4 from each edge.

Attach a piece of acetate from our Window Sheets (142314) that is 4" x 4" and attach it to the back.

Fold the piece for the window card along the score lines and fold each side under to create a square tube that will help the window stand up from the card base. Use Tear & Tape adhesive (154031) to fasten the tubes against the back of the window and to attach the tubes to the card base.

Caution! Be sure the tubes are positioned straight up and down so the card will fold flat.

Finish the card by adding the die cut grass shape (cut from Evening Evergreen) and the stamped flowers colored in Daffodil Delight.

I used the tag from Harvest Dies and a scrap of the patterned paper to create the sentiment.

BE SURE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BUNDLE PRICING ON THIS SET ($53). THIS PRICE EXPIRES ON 5/3

The window card will fold flat for mailing.

THANKS RONDA WADE for the inspiration

FREE Shipping on 4/21! Plus a fun Squash Card

Don't miss out on this great opportunity to save 11% on your total order! Be ready to shop on Thursday 4/21/22. Take advantage of free shipping and some great discounts on retiring products.

Have you stocked up on retiring cardstock and ink pads yet - don't wait too long. They won't be around for much longer.

Try your had at the "Squash Card". I used a great tutorial to learn this fun fold. You can check out the wonderful tutorial by Chiccnscratch - https://chicnscratch.com/2022/04/how-to-make-a-squash-card.html

I stamped the flower from Flowing Flowers Stamp set (157880). To get this beautiful color I inked the flower image with Mango Melody. Then I used a sponge dauber and Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade inks to add more color to the flower. I huffed on the stamp to re-moisten it and stamped. I love the look. Of course, I used Wink of Stella to pop it a bit more. The same technique was used for the flowers inside.

I cut a scalloped circle with the largest die in the  Layering Circle die set. I stamped just the leaves from the smaller flower image using Shaded Spruce. I stamped two leaf images. Then I fussy cut the flower and popped it up over the top of the leaves with Stampin' Dimensionals. This becomes the focal point of my card.

My card base is made from Pumpkin Pie cardstock cut 8 1/2" x 8 1/2". It is scored at 4 1/4" both vertical and horizontal. I created one diagonal score line from the top right corner to the bottom left corner.

Patterned paper is used for the accent. The front piece is 4" x 4". Inside I used two more patterned paper pieces also at 4" x 4". These are cut in half at the diagonal.

Stamp more flowers on the inside on two pieces of 4" x 4" basic white cardstock.

Before assembling the card, attach a strip of ribbon to the front - approximately 13" of ribbon is needed.

Don't you love this idea - make your own squash card using the stamps you have at home. Try creating a new flower color like I did using sponge daubers to mix ink colors on the stamp itself. Just have fun!

All the supplies I used are linked below the post.

Have You Seen What's On Sale at Stampin' Up!

Slipping Away - Your Opportunity I mean - only 15 days left!

So many of the items are going fast but there are still great deals for you so don't hesitate. Shop today!

Each card is created with the same layout and Just Jade cardstock but the colors and images along with the embellishments, create 3 different looks.

Hope you are inspired to try this layout at home. I think it was fun to come up with the 3 different looks and there were more that came to mind. For example, try a landscape design for the layout.

Don't be shy - Just Jade is retiring but the cardstock and the inks are still available for purchase. Don't let your opportunity slip away.

How About some Stampin Blends (153107) on sale at 20% off
$9.00 $7.20

Card stock (153079 $8.75), ink pads,  ribbon and more are still available.

This set of retiring stamp pads (154957) is still available at a bundle price of $33.75

Whatever you choose - be sure to enjoy some creativity today!

This card is stamped with the Ranunculus Romance Stamp set (157968) in Cajun Craze and Garden Green with Sahara Sand accents in the background.

I used the Stampin' Write markers to color the flower set 2 different colors before stamping. If you don't have the markers, use the tip of the blender pen to pick up the ink and color the stamp set. Be sure to wipe the Blender Pen clean before changing colors. And 'huff' on the red rubber before stamping to re-moisten the ink.

The White card stock is 4 !/4" x 3" and the black mat is 4 1/2" x 3 1/4". Quick and simple but very striking!

For this layout I added the ribbon. I stamped the images with the NEW (coming in May) stamp set called Natures Prints - love this set. You will too! I chose Granny Apple Green and Pale Papaya as the colors. I added some gems colored with the Pale Papaya Blends. A step up! But still easy.

My last card uses Pale Papaya Cardstock with the just Jade Die cuts. A beautiful arrangement of leaves from two dies sets ( Natural Prints and Ranunculus). The lovely tag shape is from the Natural Prints die that will be NEW in the annual catalog coming in May. The Pale Papaya cardstock is embossed with the NEW embossing folder called Fern and the finishing touch is the fun Black & White Gingham ribbon (156485).
