Christmas Cards the Stampin' Up! Way

New Mini Catalog Products - So much to love!

I love the cards and envelopes on page 34 of the mini catalog. You will too. They are going to make my Christmas Card making so easy.

Combine this with the lovely die and stamp bundle called Christmas Classics and the job is done!

This bundle has everthing I want in a traditional card. And the greetings are so lovely with paerfect scripts for each sentiment. Can't Beat It!

Did you notice those stars - they are the perfect touch - these are adhesive backed star trinkets that are so lovely but not too bulky! I will be using a ton of these.

Perfect red ribbon from the Real Red and Garden Green combo pack finishes the touch.

Its never to soon to start you Christmas Card making

Technique: Emboss Resist with Bubble Wrap

Many Stampin' Up! retired products are going to be missed, like the color Rich Razzleberry, And this card is a great example of how gorgeous Rich Razzleberry is with gold

I had a lot of fun with the background for this card by using bubble wrap and versamark ink to create an emboss resist effect.

Everyone has gotten some bubble wrap packaging material in the mail, right? Next time - save a piece and add this new "tool" to your stash.

I love the way this technique came out. Here's how I did it:

1. Cut Basic White cardstock to 4 1/2" x 3 1/4".

2. Use bubble wrap like a stamp and place Versamark dots at random over the white cardstock.

3. Heat emboss the stamped piece with White Embossing Powder.

4. Use a Blending Brush and Rich Razzleberry ink to blend ink over the top of the embossed images. This will bring out the white dots. Continue to add ink with the blending brush until you have the depth of color you like.

5. Use a tissue or paper towel to wipe off the excess ink. This will make the white dots more distinctive.

6. Use Stampin' Seal to attach the stamped piece to the card base of Rich Razzleberry cardstock which is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded in half.

7. Cut 3 butterflies out of Gold Foil with the Brilliant Wings dies and use glue to attach them to the left side of the card.

8. Stamp the greeting from the Stepping Stones stamp set in Versamark ink on a rectangle of Basic White cardstock that is 2 3/4" x 1 3/4".

9. Heat emboss the greeting with White Embossing powder and use the Blending Brush to cover the stamped image with Rich Razzleberry ink (same as step 4).

10. Use Stampin' Seal to attach the greeting to a piece of cardstock that is 2 7/8" x 1 7/8".

11. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the greeting to card front.

12. Finish the inside of the card with a piece of Basic White cardstock that is 4' x 5 14" and decorated with a few more gold butterflies.

You can add your favorite gems for a bit of a step up - If you want to try it your self, you can download the tutorial.

Two-step Masking Fun with Stampin' Up!

All month I am using my favorite retiring products. Yesterday I used the two-step flowers from the Loveliest Layers Decorative Masks. What fun these masks are.

All the retiring product I used for this card are highlighted in pink.

Today, I;m using the hash mark mask from the Loveliest Layers Decorative Masks - it is also two step although you may not have realized it.

It was fun to create the background for  this card! You may not have realized that the mask can be turned 90 degree to get lines going two different directions. Here's how I created the background.

  • Cut the cardstock for the background a bit oversized so you can use masking tape or washi tap to tape it to your grid paper.
  • Place the mask over the cardstock with the hash marks going up and down and tape it down also.
  • Use a sponge dauber to sponge Versamark Ink over the openings.
  • Remove the mask and heat emboss the cardstock with Black Embossing powder.
  • Place the mask over the cardstock again but turn the hashmarks so they are going sideways -lining them up between the black hash marks.
  • Use the sponge dauber to sponge versamark over the openings in the mask.
  • Remove the mask and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder.
  • Use a blending brush to brush Coastal Cabana Ink over the cardstock.
  • Cut the cardstock to the size you want for the card. The piece i used for this card is 4 1/4" x 2 3/4".

The card base is created wtih Bermuda Bay Cardstock, The background is covered with a grid die cut in Costal Cabana Cardstock with Organic Beauty Dies. The word and the Daisies are from the Sending Smiles Bundle. So many of these products are retiring!

Note: Although the Sending Smiles stamp set and die are not retiring, the bundle price will be gone at the end of April.

Say Goodby To Your Stampin' Up! Favorites

Having fun with some of my Favorites...

All month I will be posting about some of my favorite retiring products.

Be sure to come back often!

Today is all About "NOTHING's BETTER THAN" stamp set.

This stamp set is too delightful to let it go without checking it over. The greetings are clever and the images just make it pop. I combined it with the stamp set called "Hand Penned". They are a unique combination that I think was just perfect.

This card was inspired by Yvonne Spikmans-Van Bruggen of the Creative Tea Cup. She has some amazing creations.

Thee are so many fun ways to use this set! Note that the stamp is two-step stamping so you can get really creative with your designs. The stamp is photopolymer which is perfect for the two-step technique

And of course, you will want the dies too!

If you enjoy how this card encorporated the stamp set "Hand Penned", you will want it too before it retires.

Here are the Steps to create this card.

1.  Stamp the flowers in Smokey Slate toward the top of the Basic White  cardstock that has been cut 4" x 5 1/4".

2,  Die cut the cookie and chocolate images, stamped with Soft Suede, and add them to the sides of the flower.

3.  Die cut the word "happy" from Petal Pink cardstock and add to the card with glue.

4,  Stamp the cups in So Saffron, Soft Sea Foam, and Petal Pink, die cut them with the matching dies, and pop them up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

5,  Add the steam by either stamping with Early Espresso or hand drawing the steam with a marker.

7.  Die cut an ampersand image from Petal Pink cardstock and add to the card with glue.

6,  Stamp the words with Early Espresso Ink.

7.  Add some gems of your choice.

7. Use Stampin' Seal to add the stamped piece to a card base of Soft Sea Foam that is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded in half.

8.  Be sure to finish the inside. I used another die cut with Petal Pink Cardstock and stamped another flower in the corner with Smokey Slate.

This card is ready to make someone in your life SMILE.

The items highlighted in pink above are retiring. You will want to stock up while supplies last.
