Using Ink, Paper, and Stamps to create Beautiful Cards

With Stampin' Up! products and the color coordination their products are famous for, you can make a masterpiece in just minutes.

My final result is 4 beautiful cards from one piece of paper.

Each card has a unique look. But you could create 4 that are very similar by using the template in the first card.

Here's Where I started:

Stamping is done on 8 1/2 x 11" paper and then cut into sections. Dimensions are in the picture.

All of the supplies used in the stamping are linked at the bottom of this page.

TUTORIAL for COLLAGE STAMPING

My first step is to choose stamps that have lovely images that are attractive to me. In this case, The stamp sets I used were True Beauty, Painted Poppies and Artistically Inked. Most of the images are from True Beauty.

Then I picked the colors. I was inspired by the colors in the stunning Designer Series Paper called Awash in Beauty. I used So Saffron, Petal Pink, Polished Pink, Merry Merlot, Shaded Spruce and Parakeet Party.

I used scratch paper to stamp the images in a circle radiating out from the center. I used the Merry Merlot branch of florals first. Then I started filling in with the other flowers and colors until I had filled the paper. My Paper is 11 x 8 1/2 inches.

I liked the results but in my final version I made a few changes to the stamps.

Then I created my masterpiece on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut the paper (as shown in the picture) and made 4 different cards.

 Love the Bouquet?

You can see my color combinations on my last post. Hopefully it will give you ideas for some creations of your own.

I combined the flowers with the Bottled Happiness Stamp Set and used the greeting from the same set.

I was able to use the butterflies and dragonfly from the Pretty Pop-Ups dies (new in the Annual Catalog). The die cuts the images so they will can be popped up from the paper but I was able to use my scissors to snip them out for this application.

I was able to use a couple of new products that you will be able to purchase  or earn for free starting in July - GREAT DEAL!

I used the Cards and Envelopes that will be free with a $50 purchase from the new Sale-a-Bration catalog starting in July. I also used the Pearlized Enamel Elements from the July-Dec Mini catalog that will be available next month. Hope you are looking forward to these great new items!

The new Pretty Pop-ups Dies are unique - I will be showing more about them in future posts. I know I will love working with these dies!

This is an example of a card created by Stampin' Up!. Look how lovely these dies can be.

Stampin' Up! Inks and the Color Contour Stamp set create a beautiful garden.

 I love flowers but I'm not a great gardener until , , ,  I started stamping.

I had fun making these flowers, I used a NEW product to add a fun touch to the centers and I have a tip for lining up the stamps for the TWO-STEP stamping technique.

TWO- STEP stampin is a technique where you use two stamps that work together to create the image.  In this case, one stamp creates the outline and one creates the color on the inside.

If you want to create some fun flowers for your "garden", here are some color combination ideas for you.

Notice the tip written on the yellow sticky note. This is a NEW product that will be available to you on July 1 - Pearlized Enamel Effects. I have used White however, it comes in 3 colors: red, white and black. I love the look!

TIPS for TWO-STEP STAMPING

When stamping the flowers I had to stop and look carefully to line the outline image with the inside image. To save time, I put a small black dot on the back of the stamp on the longest petals of the outline image. Then I put a block dot on the inside image on the tip of the matching petal. You can see the dot when you place it on the block. This works great for quick accurate placement.

TIP 1- Line up once and mark the stamps with the black dots and enjoy!
Tip 2 - Stamp the outside image first then the inside - its easier to line up.
TIP 3 - Use the darkest color for the outside to get maximum contrast.
